3D Printing Spend to Increase by 21% This Year

$13.8bn will be spent on 3D printing globally in 2019 experts predict, this is a 21.2% rise over 2018. This includes spend upon hardware, materials, software, and services. The same team predict spending will reach nearly $22.7bn by 2022. The industries that will see the fastest growth in 3D printing over the next five years are healthcare (nearly 30%) and transportation (28%). The majority of 3D printing today is for prototypes, aftermarket parts, and parts for new products, however, by 2022 it is predicted that dental implants and tissue/organ/bone objects will be the most prevalent.
