Microsoft launches Office 2019 for Windows and macOS

Microsoft has launched Office 2019 for Windows and macOS and has committed to providing a successor to Office 2019, ending renewed speculation that this release would be the last without a company taking out a subscription.
Volume license holders are now able to download the new suite of applications before Office 2019 is rolled out to both commercial and consumer customers who buy one-off copies rather than in bulk, over the next several weeks.
Customers who purchase Office 2019 are given a perpetual license. This means that it is purchased with a single, up-front fee that gives the buyer the right to use the software in perpetuity. The license has no expiration date and users may run the software as long as they’d like. It is known as an “on-premises†version.
An alternative purchase would be the “cloud connected versionâ€, Office 365 ProPlus, which includes the same applications delivered as part of an Office 365 subscription. Customers may run ProPlus only as long as they continue to make monthly or yearly payments for the subscription.
