David joined Utilize in May 2016 as Head of Client Support Services, but more recently, due to the increasing requirements in information security and data protection, has moved to an information security consultancy role.

David has over 35 years’ experience in IT with over 20 years at senior management level, managing teams from 3 to 70+ people.

He feels very lucky to have been involved in many exciting projects, notably, this included managing the team implementing the Euromillions Systems for Camelot, implementing IT systems for Avis in Thailand, Malaysia, Finland and Spain as well as involvement in the creation of the Requests for Proposal to outsource IT services at The RICS. David has also worked on the Unilever Global Outsource contract as well as on outsource contracts for a number of start-up organisations.

As an ITIIL Manager, an ISO 20000 auditor and with PRINCE2 and GDPR Practitioner certifications, David decided to switch from a procurer of IT services, to one that delivers them, bringing with him a real understanding of what it’s like to be a client of a managed services provider.

At Utilize, David is responsible for data protection and information security; maintaining the organisations ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials certifications and acting as the data protection privacy manager.

When not at work, David can be found shopping, taxi-driving for his two daughters and occasionally working on his 1953 Morris Minor.
